The Temples and Shrines are now under the care and supervision of a special governmental department called The Naimusho or Home Office. May the day be not far distant when the devotions of the nation shall be directed to the only one true living all-seeing all-knowing all-loving God--the God of the Christians, instead of to the senseless lifeless images of wood, stone and metal the base works of idolatrous, men. In viewing the Temples and Shrines it will be noticed that with the exception of the Elephant, when any two Birds, Beasts Fishes, or Reptiles whether fabulous or not are represented facing each other, one-usually that on the right--has its mouth open, while that of the other one is closed, typifying the active and passive.
