THE EN CONTAINING LISTS Of The STAGES IN THE DIFFERENT RO UT S FROM ENGLAND To BASSORA, TAKEN Either from the Journals and Observations Of the AUTHOR, O R Collected by him from the Best Authorities. It has been observed that a person going to India across the great desert, had better embark at some of the parts of Italy or France, and from thence proceed to Aleppo, either by Laticbea or Alexandretta: but that a dispatch should be sent through Vienna and Constantinople, directly to a BagBagdad; or else by Aleppo, to Bajsora. Could I suppose this advice would invariably be followed, it would be unnecessary to take any further notice of the route by Conjlantinople, which in this cafe would be frequented only by couriers: but as curiosity may induce travellers who can command their time, to pass that way; I have collected with all possible care, correct lists of the different stages through France, the Netherlands, and Holland to Vienna; and so on by ConJlantinople, to Aleppo, and from thence by various routes to BaJJbra. James Capper, Books, History, Observations on the passage to India, through Egypt, and across the great desert; with ... sketches of the different routes: by Ja, The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. Rich in titles on English life and social history, this collection spans the world as it was known to eighteenth-century historians and explorers. Titles include a wealth of travel accounts and diaries, histories of nations from throughout the world, and maps and charts of a world that was still being discovered. Students of the War of American Independence will find fascinating accounts from the British side of conflict. ++++ The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title.
