Translated from the German by Bernd Zoller, this joint publication by Hurst and Humanities (as summarised on the spine) gives us The Historical Background and The Annexations of 1884-1885 (both by Stoecker) and then on a time basis until WWII by different contributors (including Peter Sebald on Togo; Helmut Nimschowski on Morocco; Horst Drechsler on South-West Africa; and much from the editor). Some fascinating historical data in these pages, along with such features as The Colonial Aims of the Weimar Republic, this by Adolf Ruger. An academic work but very readable and of significant value. Book has some creasing and marks to first four pages, marks on outer edge but gen very clean. Jacket chipped badly at top of spine and damaged elsewhere, including the skin coming away from the backing.
