Minor bumping to spine ends of brown boards, some notes in pencil by a previous owner on dedication page, last page of index and elsewhere, but otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover book. Deals with the Border Reivers, families on the Scotland-England border who lived lives of raiding and feuding in the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. The author is probably better-known for the "Flashman" books. A heavy book, packaged weight is just over 1kg, so extra postage will be required from buyers outside the UK. 404pp, 18 b&w illustrations, endpaper map, and a folding map at the back of the book showing the Border area (later editions don't have this as a folding map, but just printed on two pages)..
