I am persuaded that the rule of the moral law is no less rigorous than the law of gravi tation. If justice is good for any men it is good for all; if it is the duty of any it is the duty of all; it is universal; it is inexorable; you cannot violate it. If the Golden Rule is the rule of a Christ, it is the rule of all men. If it holds good in heaven, or in any shining sphere, it holds good in this earth here and now. If physical laws, obeyed, keep our homes and our bodies safe, so this law only more surely keeps our lives safe, and constitutes the health of human society.
