Excerpt from Lectures on Medical Nursing: Delivered in the Royal Infirmary, Glasgow Five years ago the Managers of the Glasgow Royal Infirmary resolved that a course of Systematic Lectures on Nursing should be added to the practical training, that, for many years previously, the nurse probationers of the hospital had in turn undergone. It was arranged that I should undertake the medical section of the work; and since then I have given, once a year or oftener, a course of lectures on Medical Nursing. Now that other duties prevent me continuing these lectures, I have thought that in this form they may continue to be of some service, and to a greater number. They are here presented exactly as they were delivered during the present autumn, with the exception of the last, which formed the concluding lecture of a previous course.
