Surviving the Blitz and the vagaries of post-war Britain, she emigrated to New Zealand in 1958. Florence recounts her experiences at Arohata Borstal (now Arohata Women's Prison) where she was Superintendent form 1959 to 1974, and reflects on a life of service from her retirement at Pukerua Bay, Wellington.
