The third chapter contains an analysis of his historiography; the fourth chapter presents the rhetorical texts, tracing their ancient sources are detected and a correlation to his historical work is attempted. The fifth chapter is on Pachymeres' philosophical and theological texts, with an emphasis on recent research findings, which show that the philosophical interests of Pachymeres were broader; he was not just another commentator of Aristotle.
