Excerpt from The Description of Greece, Vol. 1 of 3 Our Pausanias travelled not only through Greece, Macedonia, and Italy, but likewise through the greatest part of Asia, as far as to the Oracle of Jupiter Hammon. He says, too, of himself, that he visited Palestine, and that he saw Jordan and the Dead Sea.
