Dean Bekker won a bronze medal at the 1956 Melbourne olympics. he has signed his photo. The first part of the book is a pictorial history of South Africa's participation at Olympic Games until 1960, after which South Africa was no longer invited to take part. The second part is the history of the country's struggle to get back into the International Olympic Committee, a goal which was not realised until 1994.
