XVII, XVIII; Fig. 48, 49, Taf. XXIX) von Carel!oclzelys fällt vor allem die starke, rüsselartige Nase auf, die gegen den Kopf selbst abgesetzt erscheint, aber etwas gedrungener und nicht ‚so spitz ist wie bei (siehe auch Fig. 123 bei DE rooy, 1915 und waite Sie ist leinfleischiges Organ mit-starken Runzeln und Knöt chen auf ihrer Oberfläche und hängt etwas nach unten. Bei dem Exemplar, das mir zur Verfügung stand, war sie auf der einen Seite etwas beschädigt und plattgedrückt, doch war die andere Seite gut erhalten. Es scheint, als ob die Nasenfiügel'ein wenig seitwärts nach aussen geschaut hätten. Zwischen ihnen liegt eine dreieckige, faltige Vertiefung, so dass die Nase zweilappig ist. Die Nasenlöcher liegen im oberen Teil der Nase und haben ovale Form; ihre lange Achse steht schräg von unten aussen nach oben innen. In der oberen Ecke der Oeffnüng zeigt sich ein Querfältchen. An der inneren Seite der Nasenöffnung zieht von hinten oben her ein Fleischläppchen als Klappe zum Verschliessen der Nase. Diese Verschlussklappe trägt vorn drei kleine, schräg nach aussen verlaufende Fältchen, von denen das unterste ein kleines Zäpfchen hat. Das mittlere ist ungeteilt, das obere in zwei fast gleiche Hälften ge spalten. Oben ist die Nase etwas abgerundet, unten bildet sie nach den Seiten hin Kanten Sie ist gegen den Kopf durch eine plötzlich steil aufsteigende Querleiste stark abgesetzt (vorderer oberer Rand der knöchernen Nasenöffnung).
