Track plan diagrams are used in the engine shed descriptions, some having more than one diagram, producing a comparison if the track work has changed considerably over the years.Two Separate sections have been devised, which review engine sheds closed before railway nationalisation (1923 - 1947) and those which survived into the days of British Railways (alphabetically) and then a further 'Appendix' section, overviewing key points of the several sheds such as coaling stages, water tanks, turntables and staffing numbers.".
