This is a biography of a former RAF pilot and commander of 83 Squadron as a Pathfinder. The book will also be of interest to travelers and business executives in the later parts of the book. This is a very difficult book to find stateside in this condition. This copy is in near fine condition with an unblemished hardcover having sharp edges and corners. The binding is tight and the pages are clean, crisp, unmarked and uncreased but with the previous owner's name written on the first endpage.This is the only defect which takes this copy our of an as new rating. The dust jacket exhibits a near fine appearance with only the slightest bit of shelf or edge wear. This is a remarkable book and is in near fine condition. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 162 pages.

The author was influenced to some extent by a talk given by Flight Lieutenant John Boothman captain of the RAF team which won the Schneider trophy, and after initial training at Hamble he trained on the Hawker Hart, Audax and Fury at number 2 FTS Brize Norton.-------------------------------------------------------------In 1939 he flew his first operation from Scampton flying a Handley Page Hampden with 49 Squadron unsuccessfully attempting to bomb the battleship Deutschland. He was awarded the DFC after his 30th trip from Hemswell, and in 1943 was Wing Commander of 156 PFF Squadron RAF Warboys , and cornpleted his service after commanding 83 Squadron in 1944.Part III of the book covers his 18 years' service with the Beecham Group developing their export trade, and travelling many thousand miles, before settling in Australia with his family to open the new factory in 1957.
