"Parsing and Interpretation" considers a range of topics concerned with surface structure, parsing and sentence interpretation. The chapters cover both theoretical and methodological aspects of the research in this area. Topics include the processing of local syntactic ambiguity, with extensive discussion of the arguments both for and against the existence of purely structural parsing strategies. Also included is some of the debate concerning the methodological basis of the claims being made in this area.
