From the library of the poet David Gascoyne, with the Gascoyne library book-label and inscribed on the half-title by the author, "For David with every good wish from Audrey. 13.2.85"; her autograph correction on p.64. Audrey Beecham, "poet and eccentric" (as the ODNB calls her), lived in Paris in 1937 and was later one of Tambimuttu's coterie. "She was quite a close friend for a while," recalled David Gascoyne.
