Carmarthen: Carmarthenshire Antiquarian Society. Good with no dust jacket. 1991. First Edition; First Printing. Paperback. 0906972035 . SLIGHTLY AT FAULT** - please read detail. In the original publisher's glossy pictorial card covers. No dustjacket as issued. One crease line to the spine and the cream base colour to the spine is LIGHTLY faded but all lettering/titling is still very clear and bright. **A former owner has carelessly cut off the top of the half title, (presumably to cut off their name, or a gift note? ) and in doing so also cut off the top blank quarter of the other side of that page which was the frontispiece opposite the Title page - but luckily the frontispiece picture is unaffected, as the portion cut off is in the main a blank area, o/w overall, apart from those 'faults' noted, this is an Excellent Very Clean, Tight and Bright 'VG' copy. No other Inscriptions or Marks. (xi) + (1) + 284 pp - with list/bios of the Contributors printed on the inside of the back cover. Illustrated in b/w with photo images, maps, plans, etc. List of subscribers; Index. Essays by various experts INCLUDE - ' Transhumant or Permanent Settlement? Linear house foundations along Afon Clydach on the Black Mountain, South East Carmarthenshire' by Anthony Ward; 'Dros y Mynydd Dui Frynaman: documentary sources for some farms near Nant Melyn' by Muriel Bowen Evans; 'The Blaensawadde Estrate Maps' by Susan Beckley ; 'The Roman Roads of Carmarthenshire' by Heather James; 'The First Kidwelly Tinplate Works: An Archaeological and Technological History' by Neil Ludlow; 'Naming of Seams in the Llanelli Coalfield' by Malcolm Symons; 'The Two Harbours of Burry Port' by John Nicholson; 'Evan Andrews of Kidwelly (1803-1869) : Scholar, Schoolmaster and Playwright; by Thomas Lloyd. M. A: 'James Buckley - Itinerant Preacher 1770- 1839' by W. Kemmis Buckley; etc, etc.... A Fascinating glimpse into aspects of Carmarthenshire history. Most likely a Limited print run - Unlimited print runs don't usually have 'Subscribers' - therefore quite scarce. However as this copy has been damaged by cutting off a portion of a page (tho WITHOUT loss to the content) I am reducing the price. ; Monograph series / Carmarthenshire Antiquarian Society; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall .
