Sub-titled "The Ships and Trains that Served Lake Wakatipu" this history of two important transport forms that provided early communications to the Queenstown lakes area was initially pulblished in 1963. The second edition of 1980 was susbtantially, revised and updated to cover major changes that had taken place to the transport systems. Incorporated was much additional information gathered since the first edition, including many new illustrations. This a little used ex- library copy. 196 pages including references, bibiligraphy, six appendices and index, colour art frontis, b/w photos throughout, documents, plans maps, ship profliles with fold out two-view of the steamer Earnslaw (launched 1912 and still steaming as a major tourist attraction on the Lake.) Green hard covers with silver spine titles VG, library stamp, issue sheet, card pocket and bar code on FFEP, library codes panel title page verso, only other library marks few small stamps upper page margins, text block otherwise excellent. VG plastic protected colour art DJ repeats frontis painting with colour photos at back, crossed bar code lower front, small label lower spine, jacket taped to both boards, not price clipped.
