Jade Arts, Sydney, 1973. First Paperback Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Good. foreword, list of illustrations. Colour photographic frontispiece, of author. Map at the beginning of text showing general location of Westland greenstone area. The text is illustrated with 105 colour and plates and 6 pages of drawings, all done by author. Colour photographic card cover with red and black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A book about jade, particularly New Zealand version -- greenstone. The author not only helped discover forgotten Maori rock drawings, but also helped reinvigorate lost Maori arts and crafts in regards to greenstone. Inserted loosely is a letter from Errol Bulling, dated 28/6/79, re- purchase of a Greenstone bookends, and the difficulty at the time of getting them cleared through customs. (Errol Bulling and his wife traded in gemstones and rocks in Queenstown, New Zealand, and he is now a noted artist in oils). Creasing to the book corners with rubbing to the book corners and book panels. Age toning of the text block edges and a little to the pages. Sunning to the back strip.
