Ex-library reference copy with less than usual stamps and markings, including withdrawn stamped over library stamp on the title page. Cover boards are brown in color with a photo pasted on the front and title pasted on the spine; cover shows a little fading at the spine. No dust jacket. This is a small book of only 63 pages that is a reproduction of Potter's Alamo essays that were published in January 1878 in the magazine edition of American History. This edition is limited to 300 copies, of which this is number 59 signed by Charles Grosovenor, editor; this is noted on the back of the last numbered page. There are a few small, light soil spots in the top margins of a few pages; there are some extra neat black underlining of a few words, titles, etc. within the text that I think are put there by the printer. There are no tears. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
