A clean bright copy of this title. 72pp. 'During the summer of 1981, the chief executive of Bristol City Council Patrick McCarthy suggested the creation of a collection of oil paintings of each of the warships of the Royal Navy that has carried the name 'Bristol'. The collection was mounted for display in the entrance hall of the Council House and on 21 April 1983, it was opened to the public at a cermony carried out by Lt-Gen. Sir Steurt Pringle.Bart.,K.C.B. Commandant General of the Royal Marine. Following the opening of the Bristol Maritime Heritage Centre by Her Majesty The Queen on 26 July 1985. The Collection is now housed in that building. In this book the pictures are reproduced together with a short history of the seven ships which have carried the name 'Bristol' from 1653 to the present day. Size: Oblong 4to.
