The gaol located in Omagh served the county of Tyrone and was situated at the Derry Road end of the town. Originally occupying the site of the present courthouse, the new gaol was opened on its present site in 1804. Remarkably the last man hanged on the old Gallows Hill was the first man hanged in the new gaol. 14 pages; illustrated with photographs, plan and map.
