Von Händler/Antiquariat, Edinburgh Books [51538171], Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
1992. First published in 1774. xxxii, 493pp. "Sinclair Ferguson, in his foreword to the book, says "It is a valuable work by a remarkable man . his grasp of Paul's teaching is an impressive advance on that of many of his predecessors and contemporaries in the reformed tradition. Dare one to say that he is both clearer and more satisfactory that enen Calvin?" He continues by saying, "Professor John Murray would later write, Fraser's expositin is 'one of the ablest and most thorough treatments of the question and of the considerations in support of the view that Pauk is describig his experience in a state of Grace.' . The first edition of this book, issued in 1774, contained a short note of commendation by the celebrated Dr. john Erskine which said, " I reaped much instruction from perusing the manuscript, even before it had received teAuthor's last corrections; for it is proper the public should be informed that this Treatise does not labour under the common disadvantage of posthumous publications, having been prepared for the press by the learned and ingenious author." The commentary deals with each chapter giving a careful introduction to each, treating of the general scope and contents of the chapter, and especially combating defective or erroneous views of the standpoint and intention of the apostle. Each verse is commented on separately, and the results of this exegetical study are then given in a paraphrase. Such a study on this doctrine of santification is a subject critical tot he Christian's understanding in every age, especially in our twentieth century where carnality has run rampant." Unclipped jacket has minor fading to the spine, otherwise in excellent conditon. Book in excellent condition, no inscriptions. Size: 8.3" Tall.
