Excerpt from The Electrical Transmission of Photographs In this small volume the Author has endeavoured to present in a simple and concise form the method of working of the various systems devised for the electrical transmission of photographs over metallic conductors, and although quite a lot of experimental work has been carried out in this direction during the last few years, to many, even those with electrical knowledge, the principles are somewhat shrouded in mystery. Although at present in a purely experimental stage, the science of photo-telegraphy is one that is rapidly growing in importance, and will, when perfected, no doubt prove a necessary and valuable adjunct to existing telegraph systems. To those who are interested in original work, and who possess the necessary skill, a study of this subject will prove most interesting, opening up as it does a large and as yet little explored field for original research.
