Louis and Cameron have been friends for a long time, and even though they often disagree, they always support each other, and they always have each other’s backs. But at the start of sixth grade, their friendship is on the verge of collapse because Cameron only cares about one thing, a cheerleader named Noel Anderson. Despite being on the losing end, Cameron decides to press his luck and refuses to stay away from Noel. In the midst of all this, Louis’ lunch is stolen and Cameron promises to find the thief. Unfortunately, he’s too distracted by Noel to stay focused on the case of the lunch thief, and Louis eventually grows tired of his friend’s broken promises. After several heated arguments, the best friends can’t help but ask, “Why are we still friends?” As Louis and Cameron’s friendship falls to pieces, new friends will emerge, rivalries will deepen, and an unexpected crime will result in differences being set aside to champion tolerance and doing the right thing.
