Correspondence laid in from Francois Garcon, pilot for the TDK team, who flew a Piper Malibu in the race and posted a respectable 2nd place for the Paris-Pekin leg. Garcon sent letters (in English) on his Pro-Raid letterhead, signed business card, press clippings, and signed color photo of his plane, to Stuart Millar, late owner of Piper Aircraft Corp., thanking him for a tour of the Piper manufacturing plant and requesting his sponsorship on future long-distance airplane races.
