Stratabound ore deposits, including some of the classic types known worldwide, constitute an important group in the Andes, also from an economic point of view. This state-of-the-art report contains three types of contributions. - Three reviews on general Andean geological and metallogenetic aspects, and an overview of the stratabound ore deposits in the Andes, emphasizing their geotecto nic position as a classification tool. - 53 contributions describing individual ore deposits and dist ricts.
