The crux of this paper is to establish within the framework of social variation the age, gender and social status variation in the use of Pidgin in Sapele, Nigeria. The paper compared the youthful use of Pidgin with the ways elders use Pidgin in Sapele and also the differences in the pidgin of speakers´ gender (male and female) and social class.
