(87) Royer could reckon with confidence on the liberality of Cardinal Rolin, Bishop of Autun. A few years after (in 1480), the building of the old library was much damaged and decayed. The college had no money to have it rebuilt. Under these circumstances, Master Jean Royer commissioned the provisor to see the Bishop of Autun, who had formerly promised a sum of money for the expenses of the work.
