And while our work is designed more particularly for those who, in consequence of their interest therein, may properly be styled horse men, yet we trust that it will not be altogether with out interest to the general reader, and that he may obtain some useful information in regard to the animal which contributes so much to the comfort and pleasure of mankind, and which represents so largely the wealth of our citizens.
