When I had fully regained my strength and vitality, at my desire my friends conducted me to Central Africa, in the Spirit-world. This country I found to be some hundreds of years in advance of the corresponding district on earth, and diversified with mountains, rivers, and fertile plains. Africa here resembles my ideal Africa. Her ancient cities exist again in this world of antiquity; thus history repeats itself. Those who read this book may wonder why I do not give an accurate description of the unexplored portion of Africa. It is one of the laws of this strange world in which I reside, that no revelation shall be made to man that will interfere with his own investigations.
