There have been many books published about Africa. I have attempted to write about Africa in my own words for good or Ill. As a South Yorkshire man I have just had to include a smattering of 'colloquial sayings' in this SEQUEL. I enjoyed, and also suffered living on the greatest Continent on earth all those years ago. It has been a challenge writing through the eyes of a complete novice from a prosaic aspect. I have no desire to return to BROKEN HILL and the MULUNGUSHI DAM, I am afraid the final horrendous 36 hours in Africa blotted out the good times even though they were memorable and will always be with me. This new book 'THE SEQUEL' did not evolve from a sudden whim, on the contrary over the past 60 years, now approaching 90 years old I sit in my armchair looking down my garden with the occasional glimpse of the clouds sailing bye going to who knows where - maybe Africa That was my destiny all those years ago. I have pondered, wondering what did happen to the many friends and colleagues I left behind, after all it was an experience second to none for an individual of my social standing when in the days of the 1950's the idea of a working class 21 year old, National Service conscript, victim of only a partial education ever holding a passport was unheard of. I suffered during my adventure creating explicit nightmares constantly throughout the years but since writing my new book 'THE SEQUEL' the nightmares have become less frequent, possibly the horrific memories of Africa have been exorcized leaving me to enjoy my arm chair and the good times watching the clouds go by.
