A central issue is the question of how education can address the Holocaust in the 21st century when it becomes less and less possible to have a direct encounter with eyewitnesses. Emphasizing different aspects, the contributors view the aim of Holocaust Education as a double one: to enlighten people about the Holocaust as a singular crime against humanity, and to strengthen in them a positive attitude towards human rights in the present.
