Dieses Buch erzählt die unglaubliche und wenig bekannte Geschichte des Schweizer Terroristen und späteren CIA-Agenten Bruno Breguet. Der Autor Adrian Hänni taucht in seiner Biografie tief in die Ereignisse des Nahostkonflikts im letzten Drittel des 20. Jahrhunderts, untersucht die «Carlos-Gruppe» und bietet neue Perspektiven auf die Auseinandersetzung der Schweiz mit dem Nahostterrorismus. Breguet wurde 1970 als erster Nichtaraber wegen terroristischer Vergehen in Israel verhaftet und zu einer langen Haftstrafe verurteilt, nachdem er sich als Gymnasiast der Volksfront zur Befreiung Palästinas angeschlossen und im Libanon eine militärische Ausbildung erhalten hatte. In den 1980er-Jahren stellte sich der Tessiner dann als Attentäter in den Dienst des legendären «Carlos», auch bekannt als «der Schakal». Zu Beginn der 1990er-Jahre wechselte Breguet die Seiten und half der CIA bei der Bekämpfung des internationalen Terrorismus, ehe er 1995 von einer Fähre im Mittelmeer verschwand.
