Estilo de lectura japonés, 190 páginas en b/n con páginas a color.. «ORIGEN Saiyuki es una novela escrita en la época de la dinastia Ming, a finales del siglo XVI, (en la actual república Popular de China), la base de esta novela es el viaje que realizó a la India un monje de alto rango, que existió realmente llamado Genjyô para conseguir el Sutra del budismo, en el siglo XII, en la época de la dinastía T'ang en China. Y en esa época, la India se llamaba Tenjiku, como sale en el cómic. Aunque hay varias teorías, hoy en dia nadie sabe el nombre del escritor de esta obra ya que en el original no había escrito ningún nombre. Por supuesto, no existían ni Son Gokû, ni Cho hakkai, ni SA (Sha) Gojyô realmente. A la mayoría de la gente seguramente le sonará el nombre "son Goku". Este personaje es el que sale principalmente en la novela Saiyuki. Igual que aquel famoso dibujo animado, en el original también salen una nube Kinton y un Nyoi Bô (bastón mágico), etc... En Japón, Saiyuki es un libro bastante conocido, y desde muy pequeños, conocemos toda la historia. Además, en la televisión, había varios programas basados en este libro.
