From the back cover: "'China's Resumption of Sovereignty Over Hong Kong' is a compilation of a series of talks given by Mr. Wong Man Fong, a former senior official of the Xinhua News Agnecy (Hong Kong Branch), in May 1997 at Hong Kong Baptist University. The four-part series, organised by the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies of Hong Kong Baptist University, was presented under the same title as this volume, with four respective sub-themes covering: (1) China's decision to recover Hong Kong--its rationale, course of decision-making, and controversies; (ii) 'one country, two systems'--concept, basis, and contentions; (iii) disputes between the Chinese and British governments over the transition arrangements; and (iv) prospects of Hong Kong and the implementation of 'one country, two systems.'
