Lubna Agha (1949-2012) was a renowned Pakistani-American artist. Her work drew inspiration from visual images of life around her - first as she was growing up in South Asia, and later as she traveled to and lived in other far-off places. Her art invoked a dialogue between the modern-abstract and traditional forms and practices of Islamic paintings. Her work has been exhibited in art museums and galleries in her homelands of Pakistan and the United States, as well as Britain, Japan, Jordan, and Switzerland. Her paintings are part of the permanent collections at the Asian Collection at Bradford Museum, UK, National Council of the Arts, Pakistan, and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, Jordan.
