I was a victim of sexual violence among other things that a person should not experience and the books methodology is developed by these victims in mind. Since sexual violence includes all types and forms of violence then you can take all types and forms of violence into the process that is in the book. I try to drop the prefix sexual in front of abuse and violence. If you have not experienced that type of violence then it is ideal to not read the prefix and put your experience instead. I try to explain the situation within us, as it has appeared to me in my own work and those who have trusted me for their issues. For our families and friends, this book is ideal to get an insight into the status of our mindset, what we are dealing with. The reality is too often that our family members will also be in harm's way as a result of our experience and it is not confined to sexual matters. By simply standing with us then our wonderful families and friends often face psychological and even physical violence. It is not always easy to be around us when we get stuck in our wounds. When we get lost in our consequences then we can be very difficult in any form of a relationship. Professionals can get insights into what we are dealing with inside. Education, understanding and awareness are the key to progress in these issues as in others. The status of the category is as is and we have to work together to deal with all sides of the matters and lift the category to a higher level. I have to been assisting in research projects at the University of Iceland and University of Akureyri and I intend to do everything in my power to help professionals to help us. We need to stand together and work together. We cannot expect the professionals to know how the best ways to help us to recover if they do not get an insight into our inner world. I developed the methodology, which is the book, from the 12-step program and have extensive experience in working with victims of sexual violence. I am going to tell you right now, you will not find any descriptions of violence in this book, nor names. These are just solution-oriented thoughts about dealing with the consequences of sexual violence.
