Illustrated by F.R. PICKERSGILL, JOHN TENNIEL, BIRKET FOSTER, FELIX DARLEY, JASPER CROPSEY, P.DUGGAN, PERIVAL SKELTON AND MADOT.Poems include : The Raven Lenore, the Coliseum, To Helen, The Haunted Place, Eldorado et al Poe didn't seem to rate these poems in this book as he states in the preface " In defence of my own taste, nevertheless, it is incumbent upon me to say that I think nothing in this volume of much value to the public or very creditable to myself. Events not to be controlled have prevented me from making, at any time, any serous effort in what, under happier circumstance would have been the field of my choice'... Bound in blue linen boards. Boards and spine have been sympathetically re-backed. New endpapers. Gilt fore-edges. Small neat pencil note to the ffep. Pencilled name on the title page. Scattered light foxing to a few pages, majority of pages are clean and bright.
