Great Piece as this is a large size softcover book with a Dust Jacket of 112 pages that is in Japanese! It does have English subtitles in some places, but many pages do not, but it is not hard to follow the story due to the great photographs and illustrations. The titles of the chapters are listed in English. Another great part about this piece is that it is Signed By Two of the Original Von Trapp Children and One Daughter-In-Law. Book is Signed by Werner Von Trapp, played as "Kurt" in the movie, who died in 2007 at the age of 92. Also signed by Maria Von Trapp, the daughter played as "Louisa" in the movie, who died in 2014 at the age of 99 and was the last surviving sibling portrayed in the movie. The book is also signed by "Erika Von Trapp", who was Werner Von Trapp's wife- she was from Austria and a friend of Maria'S. She died in 2018 at the age of 96. The book is also signed by the author, William Anderson. Quite a collectible, as all of the Von Trapp Signers are deceased. Large Softcover Hardback of 112 pages is in Very Good condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. The inside text is in Excellent condition. The only other writing in the book is the signature of the previous owner placed at the bottom of the last page- she is now also deceased, but was from Vermont and was a big fan/collector of the Von Trapps! No other writing or marks in the book. Outside softcover covers are nice with some minor corner and edge wear. The Dust Jacket shows some minor wear to include the corners and edges. Book also includes some papers in Japanese that came with the book, one appears to be a "strap" to go around the book and the other two are inserts. REMEMBER THIS WAS SIGNED BY TWO OF THE ORIGINAL VON TRAPP CHILDREN PORTRAYED IN THE SOUND OF MUSIC MOVIE! We all know "The Sound of Music". Here in pictures, words, and songs and based on Hans Wilhelm's own research is an affectionate retelling of their amazing but true story: how the young novice Maria won the hearts of the Baron von Trapp and his seven children and taught them all to sing, how the family choir became famous, how they escaped from Nazi-occupied Austria and made a new life for themselves in the United States. It is a story of timeless appeal, freshly told and illustrated with delightfully humorous and warm-hearted pictures, and accompanied by 15 songs.
